The Soul of DFW
The Soul of DFW Tour Ambassadors are volunteers who help bring our tours to life on the ground — supporting the day-of experience and helping our story reach further online. Ambassadors are chosen from guests who already know and love what we do.
Volunteer Roles
Responsibilities
- Serve as a volunteer "day-of" tour support lead, helping the tour run smoothly from start to finish
- Provide ongoing support of The Soul of DFW's social media efforts — liking, sharing, and engaging with our content, primarily on Instagram, and optionally on Facebook and LinkedIn
Requirements
- Must have been a paid guest on at least one previous The Soul of DFW tour
- Provide two references — one professional and one character — who may be contacted
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs or less
- Must love Black history
- Must love food
- Must love great experiences
- Must be willing to sign a Confidentiality & Non-Compete Agreement

Optional: IG Takeover Opportunity
Ambassadors who'd like to earn a comp ticket for themselves and a guest of their choosing (excludes Soul'd Out tours) can do so by taking over the Soul of DFW Instagram during that tour — sharing the experience with our followers from the guest point of view. This is optional and separate from standard Ambassador benefits — it's a trade for the content, not a given.
Looking Ahead: Tour Lead Training
A Growth Opportunity for Our Ambassadors
The Soul of DFW is building toward training a future Tour Lead — someone who can help carry our storytelling on the bus. Volunteer experience as a Tour Ambassador is a required first step for anyone we consider for this opportunity.
Ambassadors who show a strong grasp of our history, our storytelling style, and our guest experience may be invited to train toward a future paid Tour Lead position. This is an opportunity, not a guarantee — selection is based on demonstrated commitment during volunteer service. Details on training and compensation will be shared directly with those invited.
